端午節的起源
端午節，又稱為五五節，因為端午節是在農曆的五月五日，是三個重要的中國節慶之一，其他兩個分別是中秋節和農曆新年。
這個節日的由來是古代中國有一位博學多聞的官吏屈原，他是一位愛民而且又受到尊崇的官吏，但是由於一位充滿嫉妒的官吏陷害，從此在朝廷中被皇帝所冷落。由於無法獲得皇帝的重視，屈原在憂鬱的情況下投汨羅江自盡。
由於對屈原的愛戴，汨羅江畔的居民匆忙的划船在江內尋找屈原，並且將米丟入汨羅江中，以平息汨羅江中的蛟龍。即使他們當時並沒有找到屈原，但是他們的行為，直到今天在端午節的時候，仍然被人們傳頌紀念著。

除了龍舟賽，這一天還有什麼特別的活動嗎？
A:
Traditionally， it was thought to be a time for warding off evil spirits， but now it’s just thought of a time to remind family members to take care of their health。
在傳統上，這一天一直被視為是驅兇避邪的日子，不過現在它的意義已經只是提醒家人注意身體健康了。
B:
Sounds great！ I think I’ll join in on the boat competitions。
聽起來不賴！我想我會去參加龍舟比賽。
A:
After you’ve worked up an appetite， you can eat Zongzi。 Everyone eats them during the Dragon Boat Festival。
等你划船累到肚子餓的時候，就可以吃粽子。端午節的時候大家都會吃粽子。
B:
Eating is a really important part of Chinese culture， huh？
吃真是中國文化中很重要的一部分，對吧？
A:
Yes， perhaps one of the most important aspect。 Don’t worry though； there are no surprises in Zongzi。 They are just rice with either meat or sweet red bean paste wrapped inside。 They are quiteyummy！
沒錯，或許是最重要的之一。不過別擔心，粽子裡面沒什麼特別的東西，只是米飯包著肉或豆沙而已。好吃極了！

Soaking realgar in the wine and drinking the realgar wine is an old Dragon Boat Festival tradition。Realgar is a traditional Chinese medicine。It is said viper and other poisonous creatures are afraid of realgar。On the lunar May fifth， people will drink realgar wine to drive evil things away and to wish for a healthy life。

is an indispensable part of the festival， held all over the country。 As the gun is fired， people will see racers in dragon-shaped canoes pulling the oars harmoniously and hurriedly， accompanied by rapid drums， speeding toward their destination。

On Dragon Boat Festival， parents also need to dress their children up with a
perfume pouch
。 They first sew little bags with colorful silk cloth， then fill the bags with perfumes or herbal medicines， and finally string them with silk threads。 The perfume pouch will be hung around the neck or tied to the front of a garment as an ornament。 They are said to be able to ward off evil。
端午節戴什麼？端午節最有特色的飾物就是香包（sachet）。小孩佩戴香包，傳說有避邪驅瘟之意。

Hanging Calamus and Wormwood
When the festival is coming，hanging calamus and wormwood is practiced in many places of China。It is believed that they can help avoid bad luck and diseases。Generally these two herbs would be hanged on their door frame。People would also use them to make Dragon Boat Festival decorations and wear them， for aroma and health。
