造型中的一種典型器形。流行地區廣，沿用時間長，宋以後歷代各地窯場均有燒製。它的造型是由唐代寺院裡的淨水瓶演變而來。基本形制為撇口、細頸、垂腹、圈足。它是一種以變化柔和的弧線為輪廓線的瓶類。其造型上的獨特之處是：頸較細，頸部中央微微收束，頸部向下逐漸加寬過渡為杏圓狀下垂腹，曲線變化圓緩；圈足相對較大，或內斂或外撇。這種瓶的造型定型於宋代，歷經宋、元、明、清、民國直至現代。
豇豆紅釉是一種呈色多變的高溫顏色釉，用還原焰燒成，為清康熙時期銅紅釉中的名貴品種。其基本色調如成熟豇豆的紅色，故名。成品有高下之分，上乘者稱“
大紅袍
”；略次者，釉色中含有深淺不一的斑點及綠苔，又稱“美人醉”或“美人霽”；下品呈色暗褐，稱“驢肝”、“馬肺”。豇豆紅燒成難度很大，只能由官窯少量生產，
僅供皇室內廷使用，且無大件器物，最高不過20cm。
從瓶口來看，十分的規整，呈現喇叭口，光澤在自然光線下呈現漫反射光澤，火光盡褪，為開門老瓷器。
底部落大清咸豐年制青花款，青花暈散，年代久遠，此豇豆紅為頂級的滿堂紅，要判別一件器物是不是豇豆紅，主要觀其器狀、顏彩。豇豆紅無大器，大件的器物，絕對不是豇豆紅。豇豆紅故名豇豆的顏色，色彩獨到，為其他瓷器所無，即使不是行家，過目也不難辨別。其次，要辨別豇豆紅的年代，究竟是康熙“本朝”制，還是光緒、民國時期制，抑或是現代仿製品，其中講究頗多，偽造者也挖空心思在此裝設‘地雷’。一要從底釉的氧化程度等細節判斷其年代；二看瓷器胎骨的年代特徵；三看落款；最後也是最難以捉摸的一點，看重量。”有人解釋說：“官窯豇豆紅，重量對應體積大小很有講究，行家上手一掂量，心中自然就有幾分底。”這件豇豆瓷器為典型的官窯器，無論是顏色，光澤，都極為符合，為開門到代的精品瓷器，具有極高的收藏價值。
