一般被翻譯為掃墓節“Tomb Sweeping festival”或者掃墓日“Tomb-sweeping Day”。
這個翻譯著重強調了清明節的重要習俗“掃墓”。
除此之外，清明節也可以直譯成“QingMing Festival”。
還有人把清明節翻譯為“All Souls’Day”，這個是透過歸化翻譯，讓外國人一聽就能明白中國的清明節是為了紀念亡魂。
“All Souls‘Day”的意思是“萬靈日”，其基本意義和清明節相似，是西方的一個祭奠死者的宗教節日，教會會在這一天為那些去世後無法進入天堂的信徒祈禱，希望他們早日進入天堂。

今年冬奧會，清節氣被翻譯成“Pure Brightness”，即取“清澈又明亮”的意思。

表示悼念，常常與for 搭配，後接人或物
